Born in Nachangaon, Wardhā (Maharashtra), into a family steeped in spiritual heritage, Shri. Purushottam (Nanashastry) Muley was destined for a life rooted in knowledge and dharma. Initiated at a tender age through the sacred ceremony of Upanayana, he began his formal education in the Guru-Śiṣya Paramparā under his father, Pandit Shri Prahlad Shastry Muley. By the age of eight, he had already committed the complete Saṃhitā with Svara-s to memory – a rare and awe-inspiring feat.
His pursuit of Vedic mastery did not stop there. Under the guidance of Pandit Mangaleshwarji Badal in Varanasi, he delved into the rigorous Ghanānta Adhyayanam, a higher form of Vedic chanting. Simultaneously, he deepened his knowledge of Saṃskṛta and Śāstra-s under Pandit Shri. Ambadas Sharma Pandey at the Bhosalā Vedaśāstra Mahāvidyālaya, Nagpur.
For more than 38 years, Shri. Guruji dedicated his life to teaching, preserving, and spreading the Veda-s, Śāstra-s, and Karmakāṇḍa. Through his eloquent Pravacana-s, spiritual discourses, Bhāgavatam, and practical guidance, he became a guiding light for countless seekers and students. His commitment extended far beyond classrooms and temples; he became an integral presence at numerous Śrautayajña-s, yajña-s, Cāturmāsya-s, and Kumbhābhiṣeka-s (Mūrti Prāṇapratiṣṭhā) across the country.
His voice, echoing the divine vibrations of the Veda-s, resonated through Veda-pārāyaṇa-s, including Krama, Jaṭā, and Ghana, performed on various occasions across India. His participation in esteemed Vedic conferences, such as the Trichur Vaidika Sammelana, Vidvat Sammelana (Delhi), and international conferences like Antarāṣṭrīya Vaidika Sammelana (Jaipur), positioned him as a revered scholar of national and international standing.
